2. The White House

Our second stop is the White House. Barack and Michelle Obama live there now, and so have all our presidents, except for George Washington. The address is 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue if you want to write a letter to the President.

The White House is surrounded by green lawns and colorful gardens. I didn't stop to go inside the White House but you can arrange to visit five of the 132 rooms. They are open to the public daily.

The White House is the residence of the President’s family. It also houses the Oval Office, where the President does his work. In addition, the White House also includes offices of the President’s staff and the Executive Branch of the government.
