I walk regularly at the San Leandro Marina. I’ve brought my camera and taken photos of the birds, beaches, and winding waterways of the Bay Trail serveral times. On this visit, I took shots with my old iPhone SE. Its 28 mm lens is good for sweeping landscapes.
I experimented with editing the photos on the phone. In addition, I pulled the HEIC photo files into Lightroom and added very exaggerated colors, changing the mood of many scenes.
It was an interesting experiment, but I prefer my camera for catching a bird in flight. It’s better for creating photos with crisp details -- due to the larger file sizes it employs. In most cases, I’ll stick with more subtle Lightroom filters which more accurately portray what I saw. However, I’ll admit sometimes it’s fun to see a bland Bay Area sky turned dramatically stormy.
