The first unit in AP Economics introduces students to the main concepts of economics including: tradeoffs, opportunity costs, and the production possibilities graph. In addition, students learn about the micro economic model of supply and demand and the basic role of government in a capitalist economy. Finally we explore different economic systems and the big thinkers who explained these different ways of organizing economic activity.
